Special features regarding teaching

Our instructors take an artistic-social approach. Sustainability, climate protection - these are topics of our time, which the students will be dealing with as much as with manual creativity. The campus has an informal atmosphere and excellent tutor-student ratio that allows the teaching staff to look after students individually. The central training objectives include structural design and construction and as well as urban planning. The internationally oriented master's degree programmes offer complex architectural practice.

Special features regarding the international orientation

As far as the percentage of international students is concerned, the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences holds a leading position nationwide with more than 100 nations. The department of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation (AFG) has attractive programmes for students from all over the world. The English-language Master’s programmes in Architecture (Master’s in Architecture) and monument conservation (Architectural and Cultural Heritage) and the Master’s degree in ‘COOP Design Research’ offered in partnership with the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and the Humboldt University of Berlin warrant special mention.

Support for founders

Offers under the university’s Entrepreneurship Centre are integrated into the curriculum of courses towards the Bachelor’s degree. From there, a wide range of workshops and training courses are offered on site and online for all other students, e.g. on personality development, management skills and through to the development of a business concept.

Other special features

Our modern campus is located between the main railway station and the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Bauhaus. One works among mainly architecture and design students in a creative atmosphere. Our international and diverse student body of always a little more than 1000 people still offers everyone a nearly familial community. Many students also enjoy the advantage of quick access to cities such as Berlin, Leipzig, Halle or Magdeburg.
